Breakdown of Cooking Weekend
Friday
Arrive Friday between 4 and 5pm
Find your room, unpack & have a glass of refreshing homemade holiday ginger lime fizz
6pm - Meet and greet in kitchen –
Cooking Class #1: Appetizers
introduction to knife skills and learn how to make some simple holiday appetizers
7:30pm –Wine tasting and appetizers in the Main Room
8:00pm - Dinner is served
9:00pm- Festive Decoration ideas for your table
- Make your own centerpiece (optional)
Saturday
8:00am - Hour Yoga/Pilates class or hike/bike ride - not compulsory
9:00am - Breakfast is served
10:00am – Cooking Class #2: Planning, Organization and Cooking Prep
- Review of knife skills, importance of sanitation and mise en place
Introduction to timing, planning and organization
Prepping meat, side dishes, cranberry sauce and desserts
Participants will continue to practice their knife skills and learn how to get organized in the kitchen, while preparing everything for the big dinner
1:00pm - Lunch
We’ll enjoy an alfresco lunch followed by some free time
3:00pm Cooking Class #3 – Part 1:Timing
- Review timing and organization to ensure all elements of the meal are served together and hot and how to maximize your kitchen/counter space for service
- Finalize prep, cook all remaining items
4.30pm / Sunset - Walk to Lookout Bench to toast sunset
5.30pm Cooking Class #3 – Part 2: Presentation
- Final cooking, demystifying sauces and learning how to beautifully present for each dish
7:00pm - Dinner
8:30pm - Games and after dinner fun
Sunday
9:00am - Hour Yoga class or hike/bike ride - not compulsory10:15am - Breakfast is served
11:30am Cooking Class Review:
- Review of the game plan
- Perfect any skills you would like some additional assistance with
- Yummy ideas for those leftovers
2:00pm - Lunch served
3:00pm - Departure Time
